SURGICAL – PLASTIC SURGERY
Breast Augmentation or mammaplasty (breast enlargement) is performed to increase breast size and correct breast asymmetry. Candidates include women who want larger breasts and those who want to restore the breast volume often lost as a result of pregnancy, breastfeeding or significant weight loss. It is often an ideal solution for breast reconstruction post mastectomy (cancerous breast tissue removal) which allows the patients to not lose their sense of femininity. Surgeons may decide to perform an enlargement immediately post breast tissue removal (mastectomy). Breasts can be enlarged with implants or by fat transplantation. Breast augmentation is not a substitute for mastopexy (breast lift), which is a procedure to “lift” breasts that sag significantly, although it is commonly done along with the lift to improve the breast contours.
Breast reduction reduces the size and weight of large and heavy breasts, helping to create a more aesthetically pleasing breast contour that is better proportioned to the body. Breast size may still fluctuate in size afterwards, increasing with weight gain, pregnancy, or natural course of aging which occurs due to loss of skin elasticity and hormonal fluctuations. Breast reduction gives women a lighter feel as well as look and often provides the motivation and freedom to pursue healthier and more active lifestyles. It is often a medical necessity due to the fact that carrying so much heavy weight in the upper body puts pressure on the back, impedes the quality of sleep and every day activities, and impacts one’s posture which in turn affects the entire quality of life.
Breast Lift: Pregnancy, breast feeding, and weight gain and loss all take their toll on the female breasts’ size, shape, and feel. They sag, soften, flatten and sometimes shrink. Breast lift, also known as mastopexy, is a surgical procedure performed to raise and reshape breasts.
By trimming excess skin and tightening supporting tissue, patients can achieve an uplifted, youthful breast contour. After surgery, the breasts are higher on the chest and firmer to the touch. The nipple and areola can also be repositioned or resized during this procedure to further enhance the appearance of the breast.
Stem Cell Breast Augmentation: Stem Cell Breast Augmentation uses a patient’s own fat tissue, which is a rich source of stem cells and regenerative cells, to provide women the option of enlarging their breast without the use of implants. Stem cells enable the transplanted fat tissue to grow its own blood supply, thus becoming an integral part of the breast rather than a foreign substance. Stem cells have the potential to change into any cells in the body; they are found in most tissues, especially fat. These stem cells are not the controversial embryonic stem cells.
Body Sculpting Procedure
The ideal male body shape is considered to be trim and athletic-looking, with broad shoulders and chest, a flat abdomen, and a narrow hip-thigh area. However, as men age, areas of fat tend to accumulate around the abdomen, the flanks (“love handles”), the breast area (a condition called gynecomastia), and along the chin and neck. Men sometimes seek laser liposuction to remove these fatty areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. At AAMC we utilize multiple treatments/technologies such as laser liposuction, radio frequency, and ultrasound to achieve a slimmer and muscular sculpted appearance of the treated area.
Skin Laxity Correction
After major weight loss is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from arms, abdomen, legs, buttocks, face, breasts or other areas with loose sagging skin. The procedure can dramatically reduce the appearance of loose hanging skin.
Men who are in relatively good shape but are bothered by loose skin after major weight loss. The surgery is particularly helpful when the skin is stretched beyond the point where they can return to normal. Loss of skin elasticity in older patients, which frequently occurs with obesity or extensive weight loss, can also be improved.
Post weight loss procedures require incisions to remove excess skin. Advanced techniques usually allow incisions to be placed in strategic locations where they can be hidden by most types of clothing.
Post weight loss surgery is often performed in stages. Your particular condition and goals, as well as your plastic surgeon’s best judgment, will all influence the surgical plan.
Scar facelift is a surgical procedure that rejuvenates tightens and removes excess skin and fat tissues primarily from the lower face, and jowls. This procedure can also be used to create smoothing of loose skin around the neck. It is also often referred to as an S-lift or ponytail facelift. It corrects deep wrinkles in the cheeks, smoothes deep marionette lines (the fold of skin that runs from the nose to the corner of the mouth) by elevating muscles and fat to secure more youthful position. Patients see marked improvement in cheek laxity, jowls and neck.
Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is a surgical procedure that creates natural looking harmony and balance amongst the facial features. Rhinoplasty can refine the shape, angle, width, structure, and other nasal features for individuals who are dissatisfied with the appearance and function of their noses. ]

It is most commonly performed to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. Additionally, Otoplasty can reshape the external ear correcting congenital conditions such as “shell ear”, “lop ear”, and “cupped ear”. It is a highly successful procedure with extremely satisfying results.
